Friedrich Nietzsche

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) was a classical philologist before he was a philosopher, and Thus Spake Zarathustra (1883-85) is written as scripture rather than argument, which is part of why it is so quotable and so often quoted against his meaning.
