Come, look at this glittering world, like unto a royal chariot; the foolish are immersed in it, but the wise do not touch it. Buddha

He who has reached the consummation, who does not tremble, who is without thirst and without sin, he has broken all the thorns of life: this will be his last body. Buddha

From pleasure comes grief, from pleasure comes fear; he who is free from pleasure knows neither grief nor fear. Buddha

Forests are delightful; where the world finds no delight, there the passionless will find delight, for they look not for pleasures. Buddha

The sight of the elect is good, to live with them is always happiness; if a man does not see fools, he will be truly happy. Buddha

O man, know this, that the unrestrained are in a bad state; take care that greediness and vice do not bring thee to grief for a long time! Buddha

If a man is tossed about by doubts, full of strong passions, and yearning only for what is delightful, his thirst will grow more and more, and he will indeed make his fetters strong. Buddha

Few are there among men who arrive at the other shore; the other people here run up and down the shore. Buddha

Speak the truth, do not yield to anger; give, if thou art asked for little; by these three steps thou wilt go near the gods. Buddha

The mind is everything. What you think, you become. Buddha
