About this quote
One of the internet’s favourite ‘Buddha quotes’ — and a modern paraphrase, not a canonical text. Nothing in the Pali Canon matches this wording. Its evident ancestor is the opening of the Dhammapada: ‘All that we are is the result of what we have thought’ (verses 1–2), which carries the genuine teaching this popular version compresses.
