What it means
The sentence contains an argument, and its arrow runs the unexpected way. We normally assume power comes first and fearlessness follows from it; here fearlessness is the cause and the power is what results. Nothing has been added to the speaker — something has been taken away, and the subtraction is what makes him formidable.
The other half is Beware. He announces the power instead of using it, which means he still wants an answer, still expects to be heard, still treats the man in front of him as somebody who can be warned. Printed as a slogan of self-possession, the line loses exactly that: in the novel it is the description of a condition, delivered as a threat, by someone who would rather have been answered than feared.
What it teaches you
When a person tells you what they are capable of, read it as information about what they have stopped protecting — someone with nothing at stake is not bluffing and cannot be moved by the usual levers. Turn the same reading inward: if your own boldness arrives right after a loss, that is fearlessness by subtraction, and it is not the same thing as being ready.

Where it comes from
The creature to Victor Frankenstein, after Victor destroys the companion he had promised to make. Shelley wrote it without the semicolon it usually carries in quotation: ‘Beware, for I am fearless and therefore powerful.’
The logic is the frightening part. The creature has nothing left to lose, and correctly identifies that as a form of power. Nothing in the novel proves him wrong.
