Buddha on the Mind

The Dhammapada opens with the claim that mind precedes everything — and spends much of its 423 verses teaching how to train it. These verses, in Max Müller’s 1881 translation, are the heart of that manual: the trembling arrow, the well-guarded thought, the conquest that outranks every battle.
