What it means
The sentence is a prediction in the future tense, and that is the strange part: it assumes someone will be there afterwards to find the adventure big. An adventure is something you come back from with a story. Death is the one experience that cannot be reported on, and the grammar quietly supplies it a narrator.
It is worth keeping for what it shows about a mind handling something it has no category for — it files the thing under the nearest pleasant word it already owns. Awfully does double duty too, meaning both very and full of dread, so the fear is sitting inside the boast. Quoted as a fearless motto, the line flattens into advice about living boldly, which is not what it is doing.
What it teaches you
When you or someone else reaches for a word like adventure, journey or moving on to cover a loss, notice that the word is doing the work of comfort rather than description — and that this is usually fine. The useful question is not whether the frame is accurate but whether the person using it still has room to be frightened inside it.
