देवनागरी:
उन के देखे से जो आ जाती है मुँह पर रौनक़
वो समझते हैं कि बीमार का हाल अच्छा है
English: Seeing them brings colour to my face — and so they conclude the patient is doing well.
Meaning: The beloved’s visit is itself the medicine, and the glow it produces becomes the misdiagnosis. Two lines carrying an entire romantic comedy of errors — the cure keeps concealing the disease.
अर्थ: जिनके दीदार से चेहरे पर रौनक़ आती है, वही समझ बैठते हैं कि बीमार ठीक है। इलाज ही बीमारी को छुपा लेता है — यही ग़ालिब की नज़ाकत है।
